Celebrating the Support of the J.P. Bickell Foundation

Honouring the Generosity of the J.P. Bickell Foundation

With gratitude

Mikinakoos Children's Fund is deeply grateful to one of our newest major donors, the J.P. Bickell Foundation, for their generous $20,000 contribution in Fall of this year. This support directly strengthens our mission to provide healthy food to northern Indigenous communities and elementary schools, ensuring children have the nutrition they need to thrive.

How this gift helps children in the North

The J.P. Bickell Foundation's donation has been leveraged to support our Backpack and Healthy Food Program including $1,000 bi-weekly shipments of healthy snacks, fresh produce and other essential non-perishables to:

  • Sachigo Lake First Nation
  • Keewaywin First Nation
"This support will help children access nutritious meals and foster healthier communities across Northern Ontario. We are grateful for the partnership of the J.P. Bickell Foundation." — Stephanie Paxton, Executive Director Mikinakoos Children's Fund

Why This Matters

This $20,000 gift ensures that children in remote northern communities have consistent access to healthy meals. Proper nutrition is essential for growth, learning, and overall well-being. Flexible support like this allows us to deliver food where it's needed most and respond quickly to emerging needs in schools and communities.
